Busy Busy

I haven't posted my Top 10, Overtime Review from last weekend nor my Ivy League Report. I have been out of the office and traveling the past few days and will take the time this evening to post some updates to the blog.

Please stay tuned as old and new stuff will be posted shortly.

Thursday Night Game

Starting off the season, I'm 4-for-4 right now on Thursday night games. I'm anxious to see if I can keep my streak going in this tough match-up this evening.

No. 4 Mississippi at South Carolina - 7:30 pm (ESPN/ESPN360.com)
This game will be a tough 60 minutes of defense. Look for South Carolina to go for an upset with their defense in this game. Ole Miss' QB Snead hasn't looked like himself in the first few games, but the Gamecocks' QB Garcia has had trouble too. Everyone could be thinking upset going into the fourth quarter, but look for Snead and McCluster to hook-up a few times for some large gains to put this one away.

Mississippi over South Carolina - 24-17

Ivy League - Week 1

The 54th season of Ivy League football kicks off this weekend with all eight teams playing in non-conference games. No. 25 Harvard is the only Ivy team ranked in The Sporting News FCS Poll. Yale's has a new coach and I'm interesting to see how the Elis respond without stud running back Mike McLeod supporting the offense.

Brown at Stony Brook
Brown and Stony Brook are meeting for only the second time, with the first game going to Brown last year, 17-7. Brown has won their previous six season openers with their last loss coming to Townson in 2002. In last year's match-up, Brown held Stony Brook to a total of 147 yards with 36 coming on the ground. Stony Brook is 0-2 so far, losing on the road to both Hofstra and Colgate. Brown's defense is going to have to focus on RB Eddie Gowins for Stony Brook, who was selected as National Rookie of the Year by College Sporting News and Big South Freshman of the Year. In the first two games, Gowins has 145 of the 183 yards rushing. Brown's head coach Phil Estes should adjust easily to Stony Brook's new base 4-3 defense, since most teams use the base 4-3. Stony Brook in the previous three seasons had a 3-4 base.
Brown over Stony Brook - 20-13

Bucknell at Cornell

Cornell is meeting up with Bucknell for the 49th time, with Cornell leading the series 37-11 after their close win last season, 21-20. Bucknell is one of Cornell's oldest rivals and first played in 1888. Cornell will look make it three straight against the Bison this Saturday. Last week Bucknell's defense was the start of the game, coming down with five interceptions and tact up on the scoreboard, 16 of the 26 points, leading the Bison to victory against Robert Morris. Cornell's offense is going to have to protect the ball against the aggresive Bison defense.
Bucknell over Cornell - 23-10

Columbia at Fordham
This will be the 18th game in the series for the Liberty Cup with Columbia leading the series 11-6. The Liberty Cup was established in 2002 as a memorial to all those who died on September 11, 2001. Unfortunately, for the Lions, they are 2-3 the past five years in season openers and Columbia doesn't seem to be improved on either side of the ball from last year. Fordham lost in last week's season opener to Rhode Island, 41-28, but Rams QB John Skelton needs only two more TD passes to set the Fordham career touchdown passes mark of 46. Look for him to do so in this game as the Rams should be able to move the ball up and down the field against a so-so Lions defense.
Fordham over Columbia - 24-13

Colgate at Dartmouth

Dartmouth is opening the season for the ninth year against Colgate. Colgate won last year's game 34-20 and Dartmouth hasn't won since 2005's 26-21 victory. Colgate is 2-0 to start the season and should have the offense behind signal-caller Greg Sullivan to beat the Big Green again this year. Colgate's defense should struggle as usual, as Sullivan doesn't just make plays with his arm, but also with his feet. Last week against Stony Brook, Sullivan rushed for 131 yards. Colgate's last 40 games have been decided by 9 points or less.
Colgate over Dartmouth - 24-17

No. 25 Harvard at Holy Cross
This marks the 63rd time these two have met, and the ninth straight season Harvard has played Holy Cross to open the season. Harvard's offense should make light work of Holy Cross' defense, but Holy Cross does have Walter Payton Award favorite QB Dominic Randolph. Randolph is has already thrown for 688 yards and 4 TDs in the past two games. Last year, Harvard sneaked out a win, 25-24 and the Crimson have scored double figures in 61 straight games and 98 of its last 99. Look for this to be close as both teams have a ton of starters returning from last year.
Harvard over Holy Cross - 28-24

The Citadel at Princeton - 3 pm (SIRIUS Radio)
This is just the second meeting between these two teams, with the first game going to The Citadel last year, 37-24. In the past six seasons, the Tigers have gone 3-3 in season openers and it appears home field advantage should help them exact revenge against the Bulldogs. Princeton always appears on the verge of breaking into the top of the Ivy but always struggles in conference games. The Citadel is generally a joke game for most teams, but this is the Ivy and it will more than likely be a close game. Look for Princeton's RB Jordan Culbreath to be the difference maker since the Tiger's QB from last year Anderson graduated.
Princeton over The Citadel - 23-10

No. 2 Villanova at Penn - 7 pm (Comcast SportsNet)
This will be the 14th time these two have met with Villanova holding a 8-5 series lead. Sorry, but Penn has no real chance in this game, though the last four games have come down to the last possession of the game. The Wildcats are ranked No. 2 in the country and have junior QB Chris Whitney, who rushed for a career high of 130 yards and threw for 106 yards and 2 TDs last week against Lehigh. Also, for the Wildcats, junior WR Matt Szczur also rushed for 103 yards and caught four passes for 35 yards. Penn has always been in the bottom of the Ivy in defense and I don't see anything changing this season.
Villanova over Penn - 38-7

Yale at Georgetown
Yale opens the season for the third straight year against the Hoyas. The Bulldogs lead the series 2-0 and should be able to take care of business on both sides of the ball as new leaders for both the defense and offense step up. Also coaching his inaugural game is Tom Williams, the new head coach of the Bulldogs. Yale has junior QB Brook Hart back and a lot of new faces on defense filling in for All-Ivy Bobby Abare. Georgetown lost last week to Lafayette 28-3 and it should be a similar score as the Elis go to D.C. to play the Hoyas.
Yale over Georgetown - 30-7

Overtime - Week 3

There aren't a lot of stellar games on the schedule for this weekend, though there are still a few interesting games in which more questions will be answered by teams like Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Oklahoma, Texas and the like.

Note: All times are Eastern and television listings are courtesy of ESPN.com. Please check your local listings for other games in your area.

Friday, September 18, 2009
No. 10 Boise St. at Fresno St. - 9 pm (ESPN/ESPN360.com)
Fresno St. always gives everyone a fairly hard time at home and for once Boise St. isn't playing at home on its stupid blue field. However, I don't see the Broncos getting knocked off by the Bulldogs even with their impressive play against Wisconsin last weekend. It should be close, but Boise St. will pull out the win to maintain their Top 10 ranking for another week.
Boise St. over Fresno St. - 33-28

Saturday, September 19, 2009
Tennessee at No. 1 Florida - 3:30 pm (CBS)
This game won't even be close and I'm glad to see the writers at ESPN also agree. Some are actually saying that this is Florida's first big test of the season...yeah right! The question is how many points will Urban put up against the Vols to shut Kiffin's mouth. The Vols QB Crompton looked horrible against the Bruins last weekend. Crompton must be blind because several times he went down field instead of dumping off to his tight end or running back in the flat. With a better defense in Florida, watch out Vols. Florida won't be tested this season except for maybe and a huge maybe at that against LSU, otherwise we'll have to wait and see them in the SEC Championship game...the SEC isn't as good as everyone thinks!
Florida easily over Tennessee - 44-10

Texas Tech at No. 2 Texas - 8 pm (ABC)
This game will be closer then most think. Sure Texas Tech has a new signal-caller in Taylor Potts, but he's one of the leaders in the nation in passing and has already thrown for 9 TDs...granted against inferior opponents. Texas is playing at home and has looked sluggish at the beginning of both of their last games but look for them to be up for this game early on. If not, Texas Tech could take a lead that will be too much for the Longhorns to handle.
Texas over Texas Tech - 45-38

No. 3 USC at Washington - 3:30 pm (ABC)
Everyone is saying this is a trap game for USC, after coming off the emotional win in Columbus last weekend. It doesn't help that Matt Barkley is still questionable to start and at this point, why start him anyways? Give the ball to Corp and let's see what he can do with the rock. Washington does look 110 percent better than last year and with Sark & Co. coaching up the Huskies, they will be prepared for the Trojans. This will be another typical game for USC...slow start and keeping it close in the first half and then in the second pour it on.
USC over Washington - 38-21

North Texas at No. 4 Alabama - 12:20 pm (ESPN360.com)
This won't even be a game unless Alabama sleeps through it.
Alabama over N. Texas - 36-6

Temple at No. 5 Penn St. - 12 pm (Big 10 Network)
Penn St. arguably has the easiest schedule to go for a spot in the National Title game...the only real tests should be Ohio St. and Michigan.
Penn St. over Temple - 42-13

SE Louisiana at No. 5 Mississippi - 7:30 pm (ESPN360.com)
Another victory assured for our dear ol' Rebels.
Ole Miss over SE LA - 52-7

Florida St. at No. 7 BYU - 7 pm
Max Hall and the rest of the BYU offense will be too much for the Florida St. defense. Look for Hall to have a big day and once again the Florida St. offense should show signs of maturing but ultimately will sputter.
BYU over Florida St. - 33-17

No. 8 California at Minnesota - 12 pm (ESPN/ESPN360.com)
Cal went back East last year to College Park and go upset with an early game. I doubt Teford will allow his team to be unprepared against the Golden Gophers. Minnesota has looked good its first two games but with Best in the backfield for the Bears, I don't see Minnesota slowing him down for 60 minutes.
Cal over Minnesota - 31-21

LA-Lafayette at No. 9 LSU - 7 pm (ESPNU)
If LSU struggles against Lafayette they should be kicked out of the SEC!
LSU over LA-Lafayette - 41-0

No. 11 Ohio St. at Toledo - 12 pm (ESPN360.com)
Toledo putting a pounding on the unsuspecting Colorado Buffalos last week and Ohio St. is coming off an emotional loss, can they bounce back? Toledo will keep it close through three quarters, but expect Pryor to not let the game slip away and hopefully Coach Tressell will not be so conservative this game.
Ohio St. over Toledo - 31-24

Tulsa at No. 12 Oklahoma - 3:30 pm
OU bounced back last week against lame Idaho St. and Tulsa has always given the Sooners something to think about. OU's defense is just too good to let Tulsa jump out to a lead and with Murray and Brown in the backfield for OU, look for them to continue to pound the ball and roll over Tulsa.
OU over Tulsa - 49-10

No. 19 Nebraska at No. 13 Virgina Tech - 3:30 pm (ABC/ESPN360.com)
UPSET WATCH
QB Zac Lee for Nebraska has been stellar in his first two games and Virgina Tech has looked so-so even after their win last weekend. If Nebraska can confuse QB Tyrod Taylor enough then they win easily; otherwise, Lee will have to fire down field to win this one.
Nebraska over VT - 28-21

Texas St. at No. 15 TCU - 7 pm
Really? Where do they get these teams?
TCU over Texas St. - 55-3

Rice at No. 16 Oklahoma St. - 7 pm
Oklahoma St. looked horrible last week allowing the Cougs to jump out to a huge lead before almost reining it back in for a win. Rice won't cause any problems for the Cowboys, but they still have to play Texas and OU and could be in for a long, long season if things don't change in Stillwater.
Oklahoma St. over Rice - 45-3

No. 17 Cincinnati at Oregon St. - 6:45 pm
UPSET WATCH
If this game was at home for Cincinnati I would go with them, but I have a feeling that the Pac-10 is going to light it up this weekend in non-conference games and this is just one of two UPSETS I have for this weekend in the Pac-10. Oregon St. needs this win and will showcase to the rest of the country that the Pac-10 has a right to be considered as good or better than the SEC and the Big 12.
Oregon St. over Cincinnati - 33-28

No. 18 Utah at Oregon - 3:30 pm (ESPN/ESPN360.com)
UPSET WATCH
Oregon is playing at home and they will put the first week's lost to Boise St. behind them and move forward by knocking off No. 18 Utah at home. Autzen Stadium is loud - how loud? Loud enough that when the Trojans played there 2 years ago it registered a 127.8 decibels, which is a record for any college stadium. Utah is talented but Oregon has to salvage the season with this game and it will. Look for the Ducks to feed off the crowd and their defense is darn good too. Utah has a chance, but I'm going with the Ducks with home field advantage here.
Oregon over Utah - 31-24

Duke at No. 22 Kansas
- 12 pm
This won't even be a game.
Kansas over Duke - 46-3

No. 23 Georgia at Arkansas - 7:45 pm (ESPN/ESPN360.com)
Georgia went at it for four quarters last weekend against South Carolina which shows that the Bulldogs don't have much of a defense right now. If Arkansas gets off to a early jump they could pull the upset, but I think Mark Richt will have a game plan that enables Georgia to run the ball and kill the clock on long drives down the field.
Georgia over Arkansas - 28-17

East Carolina at No. 24 North Carolina - 12 pm (ESPN2/ESPN360.com)
This is another trap type game. Remember last year...yeah the Pirates were ranked but eventually did what most teams from the smaller conferences do - fold. North Carolina needed a holding call in the endzone last week to get the safety and a 2 point win. If the Tarheels want to win this one, they will have to play defense for 60 minutes and actually start putting points on the board.
North Carolina over East Carolina - 24-10

E. Michigan at No. 25 Michigan - 12 pm (Big 10 Network)
Michigan is coming off a huge win against the Irish and I hope for their sake they don't lag in this game. Eastern Michigan almost pulled the upset last weekend against Northwestern, however, Michigan is a lot better than Northwestern and honestly, better then I thought they would be. Look for Michigan to put another game in the win column.
Michigan over E. Michigan - 35-9

Thursday Night - Week 3

No. 14 Georgia Tech at No. 20 Miami (FL) - 7:30 pm ET (ESPN/ESPN360.com)
Tonight features a great match-up and I'm actually very torn on who to pick to win this game. Georgia Tech got a scare last week against Clemson and Miami has looked solid coming off its opening weekend win against the Florida State. I think both defenses are going to get tested tonight and points will be going on the board for both teams. I see this close or even Tech leading at the half, but Miami's defense will make the adjustments and will put the needed points on the board in the second half to walk about with the win.
Miami over Georgia Tech - 35-31

Kick-Off of the Ivy League This Weekend

Saturday will mark the beginning of the 54th season of Ivy League Football. All eight Ivy teams kick off the season this weekend with non-conference games, including one against a FCS Top 5 opponent. In 2008, the Ivy went 4-4 on the first weekend (3-2 at home) with one of the losses coming in overtime. This season will feature 22 games to be broadcast on television and/or satellite radio, including three games on VERSUS and 12 games on SIRIUS.

Preseason Media Poll

Harvard was selected the favorite in the annual Ivy League Football Preseason Media Poll, its third time in four years.

Harvard (9-1, 6-1 in 2008) received 10 of the 17 first-place votes from the media, tallying 129 points. Penn recevied 4 first-place votes with 117 points, placing them second in the polls and in third is Brown, who received the remaining 3 first-place votes with 106 points.

Yale (82 points) landed fourth followed by Princeton (67 points) in fifth, Columbia and Cornell tied for sixth with 44 points and at the bottom is Dartmouth with 23 points.

The Crimson Are Ranked
Harvard kicks off the 2009 season ranked No. 25th in The Sports Network Media Poll.

My Thoughts
Well, another season of Ivy League football and my favorite football to cover on this blog. I'm interested to see how Yale looks this year (not just because I'm a season ticket holder) without Mike McCleod at running back. I also want to see if Harvard will live up to the hype of the preseason poll or if Penn or Princeton can finally reach the top of the Ivy this year.

As always, the Ivy is where college football got its start and knowing that the kids on the field are playing for the love of the game (no athletic scholarships at Ivy schools) is special. If you get a chance to see a game on television or if you're back East, try and go to one of the games. If you love college football, you'll really think an Ivy game is special and will always remember it.

I know where I'll be come November 14th and November 21st - at Princeton to watch the Bulldogs and in New Haven to see "The Game." So here is to a great 2009 Ivy season and may the best team win!!!!!

Top 10 - Week 2

Below is my Top 10 after Week 2 of the season. My rankings are based on a team's schedule to date and teams can move up and down based on who they play and how the play.

1. USC
USC didn't look awe inspiring in their win against No. 8 Ohio St. (now ranked No. 11), but they did go on the road and beat a good Ohio State team and did what they had to do to move to 2-0. Right now, USC has played the toughest game of all Top 10 teams and deserves to be ranked No. 1, at least this week. Will they get to the National Title game? Can they go on the road again at Cal and Oregon and win? We'll just have to wait and see, but USC should be rewarded this week for coming out of Columbus with a win.

2. Alabama
Alabama is above Florida and Texas right now because they at least have played a decent team in Virgina Tech. Will the move down after this week? Probably, but once again my rankings are based on who a team has played to date and how they have played. The Tide did struggle in the first half against Florida International, but so did Texas against Wyoming.

3. Florida
Florida is only No. 3 because they haven't played anyone. Even ESPN is calling their last two games the "preseason." Seriously, now everyone is getting over-hyped that they play Tennessee this weekend...why? Tennessee looked like shit against UCLA and should have won the game easily; however, Crompton missed way too many reads and continues to struggle. Florida will easily win against the Vols this weekend...especially since the game is at home.

4. Texas
Texas lands No. 4 because they too haven't played a real game and they struggled against Wyoming going into the half up 13-10...of course they busted it loose in the second half, but where was the dubbed Heisman winner McCoy in the first half? I still think OU could beat Texas - only if Bradford is in there though.

5. Penn St.
Penn St. will not move up much from the No. 5 spot just because of their schedule - which of course could land them in the National Title game. However, I think teams that play a tougher schedule and go 11-1 should be considered over teams that go 12-0 and have a cupcake schedule. The Nitty Lions have Temple next and should win easily as well...when will they actually put more than 31 on the board against inferior foes? We all saw what happened against USC last year didn't we?

Rounding out the Top 10 are:

6. BYU
7. California
8. Boise St.
9. Oklahoma
10. Ohio State

Overtime - Week 2 Review

What a weekend of football! So many games where closer than the experts thought and my upset of the week came through but I did miss the Houston/Oklahoma St. upset! I ended up going 20-of-22, or 90.9%. When you add in the game from Thursday, that's 21-of-23, or 91.3% correct. Overall, I'm 38-of-43 this season, or 88.4%, which is up from 85% last week.

Note: My scores in parenthesis.

Thursday Night - Review

Well the game was a lot closer then I thought it would be and Clemson gave Georgia Tech all it could handle and more! I guess I won't take Clemson so lightly the next time I have a pick with them involved...

How about Georgia Tech coming through though! WOW!!!! Great game!

I'm now 3-for-3 on Thursday night games...can't get better than that! Can I make it 4-for-4 this week?

Overtime - Top 25 Picks - Week 2

We start Week 2 of the college football season and the biggest game of the year (or should it be most over hyped game of the year) is upon us - USC at Ohio State. Most of the top schools play cupcakes again and we won't actually tell how good Florida or Texas really are this week. Another great game on the schedule this week is Notre Dame at Michigan...we should be able to tell a lot from both programs by the end of the weekend.

Note: All times are Eastern and TV schedule is based off ESPN.com schedule

Saturday, September 12
Troy at No. 1 Florida - 12:21 pm (ESPN360)
This is just another preseason game for the Gators - Troy shouldn't give them anything to worry about and Tebow & Co. will continue to be No. 1 in the polls with no true test.
Florida over Troy - 56-3

No. 2 Texas at Wyoming - 3:30 pm
Another game that won't cause any problems for the dominate Longhorns. Colt should continue to pad his numbers via a BS opponent.
Texas over Wyoming - 52-10

No. 3 USC at No. 8 Ohio St. - 8 pm (ESPN/ESPN 360)
GAME OF THE WEEK
This game has all the makings to be a classic, but if its anything like last year's game, it could also become one of the most over-hyped games of the year. I know USC is starting a true freshman at the Shoe, but behind a veteran offensive line, Barkley should be asked to hand off a lot and you might not see a lot of deep passes from the frosh either. Ohio St. might have been looking ahead to this game last week against Navy, but if they play anywhere near as bad, it will be another long day for the Buckeyes. Look for it to be interesting into the half with Pryor making a few plays with his feet that will drive SC fans crazy. However, this is Pete Carroll and he is one of the best at making adjustments so look for the defense to clamp down on Pryor and force him to throw.
USC big over Ohio St. - 36-10

Florida Int'l at No. 4 Alabama - 7 pm (ESPN 360)
Another BS game for a SEC team.
Alabama over FIU - 49-0

Houston at No. 5 Oklahoma St. - 3:30 pm
Oklahoma St. looked great at times against the Bulldogs last week, but the Georgia defense did have a few nice stops against the Cowboys. I don't see Houston being able to stop the offensive power of Bryant, Robinson and Hunter.
Oklahoma St. over Houston - 42-7

Syracuse at No. 7 Penn St. - 12 pm (Big 10 Network)
Syracuse could have started the season off with a nice win against Minnesota last week in overtime, but an interception in the end zone killed any chance of winning. Penn St. will roll over the 'Cuse, but look for it to be close through the first quarter, after the Nitty Lions get warmed up its all over.
Penn St. over Syracuse - 38-14

No. 9 BYU at Tulane - 3:30 pm - (ESPN2/ESPN 360)
BYU is coming off a big emotional win against OU last week, but most solid second-tier teams could have picked off the Sooners after Bradford went out of the game and it doesn't help that TE Gresham was out too. BYU should win easily against the Wave but look for it to be close in the first half.
BYU over Tulane - 44-13

E. Washington at No. 10 Cal - 5:30 pm
Cal won't have a problem with Eastern Washington.
Cal over EWU - 52-0

Vandy at No. 11 LSU - 7 pm (ESPNU)
LSU won last week against Washington, but the Huskies gave them everything they had. LSU looked sloppy at times, especially on defense but I don't see that happening this week against in-conference Vandy.
LSU over Vandy - 31-10

Miami (OH) at No. 12 Boise St. - 8 pm (ESPN 360)
Another blah game for the WAC Champs - no wonder they go undefeated every year - lame ass schedule.
Boise St. over Miami (OH) - 44-3

Idaho St. at No. 13 OU - 7 pm
OU will bounce back after a horrible lost to BYU last week. The bigger lost is TE Gresham (season) and QB Bradford (2-4 weeks). It will be interesting to see how the Sooners respond and with games against Idaho St. and Tulsa before the Miami (FL) showdown, let's hope Stoops & Co. can find some offense.
OU over Idaho St. - 30-3

Marshall at No. 14 VT - 1:30 pm (ESPN 360)
VT will bounce back in this game after the tough loss to Alabama last weekend. Marshall shouldn't pose much of a threat to the Hokies - as long as they aren't still emotionally down from last week - VT all the way.
VT over Marshall - 35-10

No. 16 TCU at Virgina - 3:30 pm (ESPNU)
Virgina loss to a D-IAA team last week - that's pathetic! TCU should destroy the Cavs.
TCU over Virgina - 42-0

No. 17 Utah at San Jose St. - 10:30 pm (ESPNU)
San Jose St. keep the USC scoreless through one quarter, but once the Trojans warmed up, game over. The Utes should have no problem against the Spartans as they continue to search for an offense.
Utah over San Jose St. - 38-17

No. 18 Notre Dame at Michigan - 3:30 pm (ABC)
UPSET WATCH!!!!
This is my Upset Game of the Week. I think if this game is played at Notre Dame, they win...but since its not, they lose. Michigan looked surprising good last week - granted against Western Michigan - but I expected a closer game. Notre Dame still has a lot of questions to answer and this could prove their week to respond. I just see this coming down to one big play in the final moments and I'd take Rich Rod over Charlie Weis any day!
Michigan over Notre Dame - 24-21

No. 19 North Carolina at UConn - 12 pm (ESPNU)
This is going to be a close game, especially now with 2 NC players out with the swine flu. UConn always seems to do well, but it just can't keep on a winning track for very long. Surprised as I am to say - between two basketball schools and a Duke fan - I'll take the Tar Heels.
NC over UConn - 28-14

South Carolina at No. 21 Georgia - 7 pm (ESPN2/ESPN 360)
South Carolina looked horrible last Thursday night against NC St. Georgia had signs of life against the Cowboys - I look for Georgia to throw against a lackluster Gamecocks secondary, even with Cox sick, the Bulldogs still have the better team, at least on paper.
Georgia over South Carolina - 24-17

Arkansas St. at No. 22 Nebraska - 2 pm
Nebraska will win!
Nebraska over Arkansas St. - 36-0

SE Missouri St. at No. 23 Cincinnati - 7:30 pm (ESPN 360)
Seriously, Southeastern Missouri St.? It sounds like a school out of "Waterboy."
Cincinnati over SEM St. - 42-3

No. 24 Kansas at UTEP - 7:30 pm
I like Coach Price at UTEP, but Kansas has way too many athletes for UTEP to compete for 60 minutes.
Kansas over UTEP - 34-7

Bowling Green at No. 25 Missouri - 7 pm
Missouri destroyed Illinois last weekend when I thought Juice Williams would actually show up and the Illini would finally get their win...didn't happen. Bowling Green won't be able to stay with the high power offense that Missouri once again has, even without the 2 Chases.
Missouri over BG - 28-3

Extra Game Pick
UCLA at Tennessee - 4 pm (ESPN/ESPN 360)
Okay, so I picked this game for several reasons - first its UCLA and I'm a Trojan fan and secondly, Coach Kiffin (Jr.) is the head coach of the Vols and lastly, I just love the song "Rocky Top!" Seriously, I didn't see UCLA play last weekend but did see the highlights and though it was against San Diego St. the Bruins did look pretty good. As for the Vols, I know they played a far inferior team, but they surprised me big time. I'll take Vols QB Eric Crompton and Safety Eric Berry over the Bruins...
Vols over the Bruins - 33-17
